[Closed] Home gym - floating floor?

I'm getting a new gym built in my garden and it's got a concrete base. The builder has designed it to have a floating floor which I will probably be laying myself to save some money. This will be 25mm rigid foam with chipboard laid on top. I've then got some decent rubber interlocking mats to finish the flooring. I'm concerned that if I drop weights on the floor it will dent the foam. Has anyone got experience of this and am I right to be concerned?

Thanks

My BIL has done this, he’s not broken anything so far, but when using big weights the floor definitely moves.

I often wonder if he should have built up between the shed floor and concrete base with that rubber playground matting. This may not be wise though, I’m not a builder.

If dropping a weight has dented the insulation, then it will have probably smashed the chipboard surely?
I'd probably go with 18mm wisa plywood instead. You can get the in 8 x 2's with T&G all round.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure how rigid the insulation will be. Are certain types more so than others? Any yes, it's certainly worth me looking at getting the strongest boards available.
