Just had the first of this summer's chilli from the garden. I have created a monster!. Hot isn't a good enough word!

Wonder if it's the weather conditions. Anyone else growing some chillis?

24 plants of 5 different varieties. All green at the moment. Last year was amazing. Still have bottled chillies in oil from 2006

Got 8 plants on the go. Still only at the flower stage here in the frozen north. Looking forward to bio-weapon grade chilli.

160 seedlings at beginning of the year but a combination of moving them to the greenhouse too early and not being quick enough to react to the very hot days took it's toll. Down to 20 odd plants now with one solitary chilli so far (Hungarian hot wax) plenty flowers setting on the others tho. Don't hold put much hope for this year but I've least from my mistakes so next year will be better.

Loads of outdoor only tomatoes ripening up. Didn't try chillis tho.

Will using a lead lined planter be a stupid idea to grow edibles in?
