.. Just using occasionally for servicing a reverb?
Never needed one before, but today when stripping down my 'beyond economical repair' reverb I thought it'd be a very handy thing to have?
So the question is as above, is a 2" hobby vise/vice with soft jaws, going to be up to the job?
What are you lot using?

ive got one like that with magnetic soft jaws. really useful little vice

Prob a bit of a dumb question, but why the need to go up,to 4"??
If you are going to hold a set of forks then 2" = 50mm jaws come with a tiny light vice designed to hold small things .
4" is a standard size for a vice that will do most jobs.
suggest google pictures of forks in vices and see what is typical.

But go 4" to buck the trend and prove you purchase decisions are independent from the influence of marketing.
