If you want to know if it really was always sunny on your birthday as a kid (in my case it was) or what the weather was like on your wedding day (drizzle) have fun with this:

Oh this is good! I’m now reminding myself how diabolical the weather was on some French holidays!

Re: weather in general - I predicted a while back that we had a dismal summer ahead. Riding KOM season has passed us by in the blink of an eye, our early summer before the inevitable June rain hasn't really happened and the weather forecast becomes even more unreliable - all day yesterday the MET office was saying a day of broken sunshine in the Derbyshire dales today. It's now going to be 10 degrees, cloudy and raining.

I don't know what you're moaning about, I spent 23/4 to 2/5 in England and it didn't rain till the last night. A bit cold and windy on some days but having left home at 30 plus with broken A/C on the car that was quite nice.

On the theme of visibly changing climate there are measurably more extreme weather events locally. Many MTB trails currently involve clambering over fallen trees and when it's wet it's very wet. More energy in the oceans, more energy in the atmosphere. One of my first posts on STW decades ago was likening more greenhouse gasses in the atmophere to covering a gently simmering pan and watching it boil more vigorously.

The weather has been decent so far this year - variable but with plenty periods of decent.

We had a wet February but March through to April it wasn’t too bad. April we had very little rain, only until this last week has there been days with a considerable rain. Typically right on days my youngest was due to play cricket.

That map is pretty cool.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but I've had one ride in short sleeves this year, we've normally had a 'mini summer' by now. Yeah, we've had a few dry weeks, but still - it seems to be back to raining every other day now and not very warm

We had around a week of warm weather in March, hit low 20s in Newcastle on one of the days. But like most years it was just a few days.
