Well, considering what the weather is like, it’s not unexpected…

Yep, that hit us. I've never known a storm quite like it. Had an End of the World feeling to it for a while.

Cooled things down a little bit, and I won’t need to water the plants for a while.

Missed us by not much, but has cooled the air down a bit

Rained here but I heard that lot passing to the south.  Tomorrow early morning there is a much bigger storm brewing in the Channel. The worst is currently predicted to miss the South Coast of England but Normandy is going to get a severe pounding.

I got a message with a yellow warning about thunder/lightning for Saturday (the whole of southern Sweden was in for a serious elapocalypse apparently). Lots of advice about unplugging computers and TVs, making sure things like robot lawnmowers were off charge, etc, etc.

In the end, I saw nothing, it just rained the tiniest bit and got annoyingly cloudy for three hours.

I've just ridden down Old Bristol Road into Wells. It's absolutely strewn with stones, rocks & various other detritus.  There must have been quite a torrent running through for a while.

There was a house in Bristol struck by lightning and completely destroyed, none around Chippenham as far as I know, or no significant damage, but there were a lot of very close strikes, I saw one out of by back window that made a huge bang simultaneously with the flash!
You can see the proximity of lots of strikes to my home, the blue dot…
