They've been pushing and kicking him all race, it's like Mo against the rest.
If he comes through to win this it'll be very impressive.

From Twitter before the race:

@BBCSport_Ollie: This is the first time Great Britain has won five Olympic gold medals in one day since 1908.

Well, how about six?

Ha ha! I was wondering how Muslim athletes did Ramadan during competition. Would be interesting to know!

Yeah, Greg Rutherford, bless his little cotton socks, cane across really well I thought. Bit of a shame really, he'd have been a national hero right now if we hadn't spent all day today systematically demolishing everyone else on wheels and feet.

He'll be out for a kebab tonight though.

Shaved armpits are a bit odd though.

Some of the muslim athletes are not fully observing Ramadan, but will do it later or donate money to charity instead. No chance that Mo hadn't eaten or drunk anything today!

I don't remember who it was now, but I read an article a couple of days ago with someone who basically said they (personally) prioritise fuelling over fasting before an event.

Muslims dont have to fast if they are travelling or working extra hard and if they are ill, or feeding children etc they can put the time in later. We have to encourage them to drink on the well sites here as it is roasting and they would keel over by NAFFI break if they dont drink. I tried it one year but sacked it by lunchtime on day one !!!!!

Not that I give a toss about football but,

As a nation, we really need to learn how to take penalties.

That was a great run, but couldn't help but notice that he nearly put his head in big pile of spit left on the track by the American athlete who finished second.

Ramadan permit lots of exemptions. I reckon competing in the olympic counts as a valid exemption. Very well run Mo!
