When you ge into Scotland take the 'scenic' route to edinburgh (sign posted of the M6). Great road and almost takes you to Peebles

Oooh, I love Peebles, you lucky man! When I lived near Coldstream I used to do M1, M6, Leeds, A1, Newcastle A698 and then follow the Tweed.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Coastal - fab in the light, but longer to drive. Bamburgh Castle is to die for. If you possibly have time, swing by Rothbury and have a look at Cragside House. It's a wonder.

Get yourself across to the M1. Take a left at the M6 all the way to the M74 then do a right at the 702. Other routes are available but once you get past Blackpool you can really open the taps.

If you take the A1 you have still got to go west to reach Peebles. This involves lots of small towns and villages. Most of this will take you down to 30mph. Road works are generally 50mph unless you are behind a Honda jazz.

simple... get on the A1 as soon as you can, head north, take the A696 (signed for Newcastle Airport) keep going!

Don't go North of Newcastle on the A1. A696 FTW.

I'm disappointed - I thought this was going to be a 'what tyres thread'. 😉

Safe journey - whichever way you go
