Only ever seen one and she was my riding partner and had run out of go after 3 hard days in Scotland. She shut down in the middle of the trail.
I found one in the undergrowth half way down Ft.Bill, she soon realised that 5ft off track wasn't a safe place after all!

i have never, ever seen a wheezing fat man sitting burst at the side of the trail whining that he has the wrong tyres/saddle/baggy shorts or prefers natural/manmade trails and is better at dh/cx/road/bmx/penny farthing. no, not ever. because it could never happen...
i have however had my backside handed to me several times by women i've cycled with or raced against. women and bikes - you won't ever hear me complaining about that combo.

i found one once ..
she had fitted her spd cleat on to her shoe backwards 🙄
so i stopped offered assistance which she was happy to accept.

But the majority of my riding is done on my own so it's inevitable that mechanicals happen. I have been known to telephone my lovely lbs and ask their advice!
