She arrived this morning but we cant agree on a name.

This is her in all her beautiful glory.

[img] [/img]
and she will look a bit like this when fully grown

so far we have,-
Shá Tanya
Juanita
Princess Fá Nay Nay (this is my favourite)
Silvia
Irene
La Teefa (La Tarantula)
Fatima
Ingrid
Claudia
Alope
Bridget

She is a Chile Gold Burst or Paraplysa Parvula if that helps?

So what do you reckon?

someone told me the other day that Tarantula ( phonetic "taran shula") isn't the right name and that it should be "Trian toola". It was my gf's batty neighbour, but she's a scientific type. Is she right?

You b*stard! I opened this thread expecting something - well, a lot less spidery, to be honest. Utter, utter, spider liking b*stard.

They can't seem to make up their minds on scientific tarantula names either. The P.parvula is also known as Euathlus Truculentus 😯

There is a flamenco dance called La Taranta from La Tarantela area.I think you are supposed to do the dance is you are bitten by a Tarantula, or sommat?

Can we have suggestions from the list please? We are having enough arguments as it is.

Well she does look like a little 8-legged version of me. You should get her some Immac, she'd probably scrub up nicely. 🙂

Call it a spider.

Spiders are not pets, they are spiders.

Dogs, cats and goldfish are pets.

Roper - I've been standing on a chair and wailing like a Greek widow ever since opening this damned thread. If I find out where you live, I'll track you down and kill you like a dog in the street! Anything with more than two eyes or four legs is not a bloody pet, do you not see that?

My Cats' names: Kona and Bianchi 🙂

Can't see the pic but if it's got a beard as suggested above, how about "Marin"? 🙂

Why latin names should be italicised

WOW! I read that I must be bored. Well given this is just a forum don't think it's really essential.

Well I might be wrong but I don't think "Princess Fá Nay Nay" is a Latin name, so maybe we should pick that one. 🙂

It's not a spider, it's a spider-baby. The body of a spider, but the mind of a baby.

Rover, fluffy, poochini

Just to lead visitors astray 🙂

I must confess I bloody hate (big)spiders which means they're safe in my house as I wont go anywhere near them to shoo them off I just hide in another room. bleh. one last night was about an inch wide including it's leg span and kept hopping everywhere... *cries* why wont they just leave me alone.

Just names, it was such a long job naming all the living things that their hands got sore from writing (no compters in them days you see) and so the writing went all wobbly and it just kind of caught on from there.

Peter Parker. And so..

"Does your spider have a name?"

Roper - "Peter Parker."

"Peter Parker? Why Peter Parker?"

Roper- "It's a spider man"
