It was a true story about a German officer captured during the Second World War by the Russians and sent to Siberia I think?
He then escapes and walks a couple of thousand miles to freedom.
Any ideas guys?

An epic book. Two and a half thousand miles through the Gobi desert, and over the Himalayas.

I would of called it the "F[i]u[/i]cking long walk"
