Really, really tired today and have a fantastically boring afternoon of meetings ahead that I can't get out of. I always feel drowsey between about 2pm - 3.30pm, I know this afternnon will be a real struggle and I will end up nodding off.

Can I eat a power lunch to keep me perky this afternoon? I have access to a Coop that does have fruit and veg etc, also have a microwave at work.

Any suggestions for 'keep me awake' food?

high protein meal as it will have a better effect on your insulin levels and therefore your drowziness (sp).

Stay well away from fizzy drinks and easy carbs.

Just don't eat bread, and get plenty of water down you. I never eat sandwiches for lunch and I never get that postprandial, early afternoon sleepiness.

Tuna Salad, and Cottage Cheese with Onions & Chives. Have a banana type smoothie to drink - all from Co Op.

Power lunch - done!

I've just had ham, tomatoes, hummus and scotch egg.
All washed down with some evian.
