Sitting in a rather posh hotel and someone has just turned up for breakfast with a big pink jumper tied jauntily around his neck.
Chances are he won't need a jumper today.

it was 37C outside.
Maybe his wife has ordered a hit man and its so the sniper knows who to shoot.

Are there special "Neck jumpers" with longer arms for posh people. The arms on mine would strangle me.
I did this once while on holiday as I knew it would get a bit chilly later.
I felt very self conscious and quickly abandoned that particular sartorial affectation and tied it round my waist.

I prefer the leather-jacket-over-one-shoulder look myself. Helps keep the upwind shoulder a little more snug.

Is it the law that the jumpers used for this particular affectation have to be hideous, golf-club friendly pastel shades, that'd look at home in an old Duran Duran video, or an episode of Miami Vice??
There's no need for such a thing.
If it's too cool, one simply adopts a stiff upper lip. If it's a little too warm, one has one's punkawallah fan one with palm fronds.
