Below is an exact copy of a reply I received from CRC relating to an empty bottle of sealant I received over the weekend.
Never in this world can it have been constructed by someone with english as their primary language, can it?

It reads like it has been put through a basic translator from French to English. Much like my GCSE french coursework....

No, they haven't moved to india....yet. The fact that CRC's recruitment ads mention that a good grasp of english is "desirable" should help you figure out what's going on. They obviously have a high regard for their customers.

IME as a regular buyer for 12+ years, they do 🙄
WoodyIME as a regular buyer for 12+ years, they do
Quality of service on the whole has taken a massive dip in the last year or so and it's getting worse. Hiring people who can barely speak english and paying them minimum wage will inevitably have a knock on effect on quality.
Also, if they really cared so much about their customers as opposed to say....profit they would have been upfront about using wheel building machines and passing them off as handbuilt for the last few years.

surely 'could' not 'can' ?? :o)

Ill admit "could" would have been a better choice but Im not sure "can" is grammatically incorrect (although Ill probably be told otherwise shortly). Bud id daint matta coz Uzbekistani id me tong.
Could be worse - Ali G could be working there . . . 🙂

CRC have been hiring an awful lot of French people recently. Plus it looks like something I could have write myself.
So it's not from india, but if I had to guess, i would say it's been written by a French.
Hector, the bit that would worry me is the 'sort this problem OUT OF YOU ASAP'.
Could this perhaps mean they are going to send some heavies over to yours to knock the sh!t out of you for complaining? 😯
If they've got the French involved industrial action cannot be far away.
They sent me the wrong tyre last week, the insufferable b*stards that they are.
If they've got the French involved industrial action cannot be far away.
LMAO.... they'll be blocking the ports in Northern Ireland, demanding a 4 day week.. 😉
Sillyoldhector, you will be pleased to know that we are still located within the UK.
Juan is correct, we have 3 french people in the team now, they however deal with enquiries from France. The german and spanish staff members we have also deal only with their relative countries.
None of the staff dealing with the UK emails are from any location other than the UK (not that people from elsewhere could not do the job), that said I would be interested in having that email forwarded to me. My grammar may not be the best, but even I can see that is below par and would obviously like to deal with the issue before it is seen to be acceptable in that persons eyes...
Andy.
Andy I know that interestingly, I got a newsletter 6 month ago with a job offer at the end of it.
But then I was too stupid/stubborn to accept the job...

I would imagine there would be some sort of interview process 😉
Remember, its now the law to not discriminate against people with Dyslexia! Alternatively, they could just have been hungover and had their mind on a whole heap of other things?

Cant really see me fail this one Brant 😉

You seem to know more about this than I do - I take as I find from personal experience.
I would be interested to know what proof you have re minimum wage and particularly the handbuilt wheels and maybe Andy would like to come in and answer the allegation ?
ps. I ordered a pair of [url=
]THESE[/url]a couple of weeks ago and the ones I received were a very dark blue/black, although the packaging etc. was correctly tagged 'indigo'. Spoke to CRC customer service who were very helpful and offered a refund as they were now awaiting new stock. Decided to keep them in the end as I preferred the 'wrong' colour but that is the price you pay for saving money mail order.
While I have had good experiences with CRC, I also spent 2/3 months trying to get the wheelbags, rim tape and spoke keys for my DT wheels which were part of the Pace rolling chassis deal. Despite the clearly worded product description it took many phone calls and a consultation with Trading Standards to get the situation rectified. All the while the product description remained on the website, which left me struggling with what the problem was.
Not to mention that my DT wheels turned up poorly packed in cardboard as opposed to the wheel bags they should have been in, and without any documentation or ancillaries. Likewise when I tried to have a conversation with someone at CRC to discuss the whole thing further, I was never called back.
I have been very wary of posting this due to the potential debate and the implications of posting an experience like this on a public forum for CRC. Therefore I would like to say now that my only intention is for this to be taken constructively and used to address the system at CRC which it would seem is far from perfect. I would like emphasise again that this is a conversation I tried to have directly with CRC both by email and phone.
using wheel building machines and passing them off as handbuilt for the last few years.
is this true? can we see some evidence?

thomthumbis this true? can we see some evidence?
Well, I think the fact that Andy from CRC posted after me and chose ignore my post speaks volumes. Perhaps I'll leave it up to him to answer whether or not they have been using a wheel building machine and passing them off as hand built either now or in the past, though I have it on good authority it's a sacking offense at crc to even acknowledge its existence . I'm sure he could also shed light on what the hourly rate of pay is for warehouse staff? He might also want to answer whether or not crc have been demanding exclusivity deals with major suppliers on certain brands?? - effectively trying to crush local bike shops.
Also, if only people from the uk are dealing with uk orders then they must have really scrapped the bottom of the barrel grammatically speaking - some of my recent correspondence have been hilariously bad. Some of those uk staff have some very interesting (not to mention foreign sounding) names 🙄
i heard yoda had got a job at crc

Why bring me into this?
Are you somehow suggesting that I may lack sufficient skills to converse fluently and coherently in my native tongue?
You would perhaps do well to read a little more of what I actually write, before making such comments.
The point clearly being made is that the email communication received and the pain experienced in trying to turn it in to understandable english very closely resembles the god awful made up language that you insist on using on here and all the discomfort that goes with it.
Reading more of the rubbish you write and the ridiculous way you write it is really not worth the bother.
Then don't read it.
Simple, really. Bit like some of you lot...
But you just said "You would perhaps do well to read a little more of what I actually write" and then you said "Then don't read it." THEN you top it off with "Simple, really. Bit like some of you lot..."
I love irony.
Another STW ego struggle ensues...
If someone is going to criticise me, for perhaps lacking linguistic skills, then I will suggest they may want to read what I write, a little more, so that they can see that I don't in fact have any problem using correct language and grammar. Roper suggested that I somehow lack such linguistic skills, which is quite a naive and ignorant thing to say.
If my writing style offends you, then don't read it. Same as if you don't like something on the telly; switch it off. you can do a search for my login, and avoid every single post and thread I am involved in. Your choice.
And if you truly are that offended by something like my use of language, then I feel sorry for you. There's quite often a fair bit of xenophobia, homophobia and sexism on this forum; issues I consider far worse than someone's writing style.
Don't get yer knickers all knotted over a few silly words. Try to think more about the meaning behind them.
"so that they can see that I don't in fact have any problem using correct language and grammar. " You ARE joking, aren't you?
It doesn't offend me at all, I completely gloss over the whole text when I see "Rudeboy" as the author rather than try to translate it all only then to find it was invariably bollocks anyway.
In fact, boredom and tedium have got the better of me again.
Bye
"Linguistic skills".
I think you mean "vocabulary" and "eloquence". 🙄

In your opinion. Which I don't value. As it's obviously not a particularly well thought out, open minded or considered one.
I suspect that just the mere sight of the name 'RudeBoy' clouds your judgment, to the extent you aren't able to formulate a rational response. Says more about the failings of your own personality, than it does of my words.

Way.
The poor use of English, as exemplified by the Op, reveals a malaise that has crept into our use of language; one which seems to be eroding people's linguistic abilities, and one which can surly only have a detrimental effect on people's ability to communicate. The number of emails I receive, from people I take to have a reasonable grasp of English, that are badly spelled, poorly punctuated and have terrible grammar, shocks me. In a society where we have more devices with which to communicate, than ever before, it seems we may be losing the ability to communicate beyond little more than txt spk.
I always try to make the effort to utilise correct English; spelling, punctuation and grammar. Sadly, as has been revealed here, this is rarely appreciated. Instead, I am chastised for my use of a few 'Rudisms'.
I despair, for the future of our language.
I'm trying to see if I can blame Thatcher for this one. I'll have to get back to youse on that one....
I think you mean "vocabulary" and "eloquence".
I don't think I can be accused of lacking in either of those two particular areas, somehow, me old China.
jeez guys get over yourselves!
