i've not got a musical bone in my body and my hand co-ordination is pants. i once had a bass guitar. bought purely because it had fewer strings than a normal guitar yet i could only play the intro from one song as it was a repeated and only used one string.
so i've now got a harmonica. does any one play one? i'd like to be able to. i quite like the idea of walking up to some lonely hill top and blowing some notes.
any tips and pointers gratefully recieved....
I've been known to take a penny-whistle on my travels. Very relaxing after a long days walking or cycling, sitting watching the evening sun and entertaining the wildlife 🙂
I always seem to sound better after a couple of whiskies too.
They are fun, but you need to be able to understand scales a bit. If it's a keyed one not a chromatic one, then if you blow you get a nice chord. If you can blow down one hole at a time then, moving upwards, it goes blow suck blow suck blow suck suck blow to get the scale 🙂
No idea how chromatic ones work, never tried. However those are typically the ones that blues people use afaik.
