I'm looking to hand draw VELO in a serif font,
but am using a technical drawing set to produce it.

Does anyone know of a guide for setting out the letters and
more crucially how to pen the lower case e?

Many thanks.

Not really. Why not import a font that I similar to what you want, outline it and tweak it?

not sure I really understand the question. Type it on your computer to see what it's supposed to look like? Print it out 1:1 and trace over it if need be?

Does it absolutely have to be hand-drawn?

There are loads of fonts out there that look hand drawn. I particularly like Helvetidoodle and PW Scratched. As with most fonts like this you have to sort your kerning out, as it tends to be a bit all over the place, but thats easy enough

I dabble a bit in hand drawn typography -

Love a bit of serif action. Why don't you just draw it? Surely using a tech drawing set it'll not look hand drawn.

Do want a whole typeface called Velo in your hand?

Or do you just want VELO as one character in a ttf?

I can do both, first one expensive and time consuming.

Second one, well mail me your sample of VeLo as jpg and I'll try and squeeze a conversion in for you.

This is one of my jobs and create fonts for a living.

redthunder, thanks very much for the offer, please forgive the tardy response, rather unwell yesterday could not even look at a screen.

The suggestion of printing out a suitable front for the characters is the method I will use.

Many thanks!
