Got a Syrian hamster last week, when we put it into it's ball to let it run around the living room and kitchen floor, it seems to end up with quite a lot of wee shite pellets at the end.
Is this normal?

What would you do if some giants picked you out of bed and put you in a huge plastic ball?

Have you clipped its claws yet? I hear that helps.

my hamster goes throught a toilet routine before i can get him out of his cage. if i dont he's grumpy and pisses and poos alot everywhere.

if they are scared they'll poo and if he's new to the ball thats why.

i've trained mine to wee in a mini cat litter tray. i'm very proud of htis.

Ours is just the same when in it's ball. Seems to spend half its time chewing the metal bars!

A lot.

My after-school & weekends job when i was in my early teens (in the 1970's when kids were allowed to do such work) was in a pet trade wholesale & importers. We used to get the common pets like hamsters, budgies etc in by the thousand. One of the less pleasant tasks i had to do was to clean out the massive tanks we used to keep them in. 500 hamsters create a lot of cr@p.
