Got a work trip this week to Hamburg and have a day and a half free. What’s worth a visit?
Massive model railway?
Sternchanze hipster area, cool place, alster lake, fishmarkt, st pauli stadium tour, river elbe river ride free with metro ticket, gross freiheit and star club always have good bands on and the reeperbahn is an eye opener
Most of what VC said. Just a nice place to walk around. Lots of nice boozy places and Gloria pizza in Sternchanze was excellent when I went (nearly 4 years ago admittedly)
Stayed there a few years ago with a previous employer when we did CEBIT. Had a cracking time, albeit a very drunken one. Witnessed some very liberating scenes in a few bars for sure. Can’t say we sought out much of the culture though.
Boat trip round the port area was interesting. Really cool city to wander round.
What VC said, plus the Elbe Tunnel and Miniatur Wunderland (although we did spend 7 hours in there 😳)
Highly recommend Grilly Idol for burgers and beer, too 👌🏻
Get on the ferry to Strandperle, nice place to sit and have a beer.
The port.
It has a red light district too 🤣
Astra beer comes in a few variations... The local brew
I would recommend Dialog in the dark, a blind experience, its a great couple of hours
Astra is a terrible beer!
Free access up the magic stairs to the viewing area from the elbphilharmonie for great views of the city and port.
Timc it improves after 8....
the Hamburger museum?
Er?
