The web server of Tayside Police's website was illegally accessed

Do you think anyone will get charged for this? IIRC, Plod couldn't really be ar53d when STW was hacked last year, with subsequent loss of income to the site owners.

Will the perpetrator be taken to America to stand trial?

The police seem to be utterly clueless when it comes to online crime, unless it has a real-life equivelent. When we had someone screw us over via ebay the police said they didn't even have a computer crime unit and the only person doing the investigation was a chap who got dragged off the beat and sat in front of a desk when someting "onliney" was reported.
