is that Ball sack, or just me?

Very little is done in GTA without a reason. 🙂

Yup Bawsack, as Pondo says there's lots of silly stuff like that which you sometimes miss at first. Anyway when I logged off last night my tip was working out, the shares were $1.2 when I bought them and were creeping up fairly quickly. With some luck should make up for the loss of the lifeinaver ones. The other shares I will hang on to as depending how people play is what effects the BAWSAQ market as it's linked to the Rockstar Socialclub.

I've only just 'unlocked' Trevor.

I'm guessing everyone else accidentally ran over the girlfriend of the guy he just stomped to death, right?

...as well as shoot the guy, after you pushed his trailer into the river, while trying to scare him by shooting over his head?

I'm an accidental sociopath 😐

Games bring out my inner sociopath too. In one of the Knights of the Old Republic games I could either negotiate with sandpeople or threaten them. I took an un-offered third option; threaten them, get what I needed then massacre the entire town. Took quite a while but if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well.

Is there an STW crew (can't be bothered reading the entire thread).

Managed to finish the game last night - I took option 'C'. Has anyone taken the other options as I would be curious to find out what goes on. The credits go on for ever - never knew it too so many people to make a game!

On a positive note the first cut scene when you start playing again is fantastic!

Once you've done the misson where you drop a car off for Solomon? I think, in his hanger at LS airport you can buy the hanger so you can steal fighters and hide them there.

Hehe.. so realistic you take it for granted. Everything you see and do has been created from scratch by hand, by someone. Every rock, every window in every building, every billboard, shop sign, every sub game.. someone had to model how the cars drive, someone had to model a golfer's swing or a tennis stroke.. someone had to code a stock market simulator, animate people doing yoga positions... then there's more plot and writing than a film, not to mention all the TV programmes and radio shows and everything else.

Staggering achievement.

Anyone want to buy a copy? Bought it the other night, played for an hour and having wanted to pick it up since. I just don't have the time to really get into it unfortunately.

Chaps - can anyone tell me how to find out how far into the game I am - rented it for a week and trying to decide if it's worth buying for what's left or renting for another week?

Michael - just trying to escape from morgue, rescued daughter from gameshow
Franklin - not seen since jewellry heist
Trevor - just moved into flat and done the flight school.

I can see one of my Xbox mates has done 53% but can't get the same stats for my game - or am I missing the obvious?

Started the Devlin quests did the 2nd one last night was great fun Trevor's dialogue has me in kinks. Did another one for some rich guy where I had to shoot a plane down then chase after with Trevor on a dirt bike. Funny as he'll again his comments are brilliant.

Smudged, I'm at a similar point - possibly a little farther as I've now done that mission - and the system says I've done just over 25%. Looking at how it''s worked out though I would say that's an underestimate and that there's lots more to see and do. Why not drop gravity sucks a line?

You look for all the hidden side missions and easter eggs and stuff. Insane jumps etc. IIRC with GTA3 completing the main story only got 40% of the game completed, I dunno if this one's similar.

I still have a few mini missions (minute men, find the stash etc) - I have been given a new mission as well which involves finding a hijacking a truck.

I have lots of money now so I will become a slum landlord now!

With GTA IV I spent my time after I'd completed the missions, looking for ramps and pigeons. Although I got bored before I'd found them all. this game seems to offer more scope in that respect, particularly with the online play.

I think the online play is what will keep people going back to it. There are only so many mountain lions you can shoot and dear you can run over before you get bored.

The other night I found myself trying to park my quad on a bloke that I had just beaten up to do a burnout on his head just to see if blood and brains splattered everywhere as his skull wore through. I was disappointed to find that it didn't. 🙁

I've hardly done any missions, just keep driving about looking at / stealing things and driving up / off mountains. I tried to knife the shark but it ate me up.

Not ventured out to sea to find a shark yet. Have started the jetski races though. The first was a piece of piss.

I'm an accidental sociopath too.

Found myself surrounded by cops at one point due to tripping over an NPC robbery or some such taking place. Figured standing there waving a gun around wasn't the smartest thing to do, so pressed a button to put it away.

However, being new to the game and not fully conversant with the controls yet, I hit the wrong button and instead cheerily pistol-whipped a passing representative of Los Santos' Finest. LSPD promptly provided a measured response to my clumsiness by filling me with more lead than a Victorian plumber.

Yelling "sorry!" at the screen doesn't seem to help, for what it's worth.

no...yelling sorry doesn't work.

Booting it round a corner and accidentally mowing down a pedestrian isn't solved by shouting "oops...sorry!".

I found what looks like a Audi R8 and took it down the garage to Terry it up a bit...got a nice big spoiler now and tinted windows and all sorts of extra gizmos under the bonnet.

Crashed it into pretty much everything when I took it for a spin.

I apologised profusely though.

My psycho evaluation will be interesting I spent part of my time last night stamping on chickens whilst hiding from the Police after taking down several gang members. They weren't happy as I stole one of their blinged up cars.

My son has just laughed in pity at you. 😉

Three or four missions before you can swap between michael and Franklyn. Few more before you get Trevor.

Not many. You've got three-ish to go to unlock the first - well, second - character. I've not got the other one yet so can't comment.

I've just finished the main story line, feeling pretty emotional 😆

Great game, and there still apparently loads of side missions and stuff to do. I tried to do as many of the side quests as possible before doing the last mission, but eventually just ran out. Still, there's all the lovely online content coming out next month!

Has anyone else discovered the 29" upgrade to the bike? When I fitted the upgrade a golden light came down to shine upon me from on high, I was able to ride up hills faster and suddenly loads of girls in bikinis came out of nowhere and surrounded me telling me how sexy I was.

News on GTA Online...
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/123946-gta-online-detailed-by-rockstar-games-ahead-of-1-october-roll-out

Possibly showing my age, but I certainly wasn't expecting there to be any extra 'in-game' costs playing online (there aren't any, I hasten to add! Seems Rockstar did the press release to counter stories that there were.)

It was a joke. No way would I let anyone who wasn't a grown up play a game where you can ride a road bike offroad (another joke)

My son is 18 and probably does everything he can do in GTA in real life.

I am very, very disappointed.

I'm lead to believe that online play will not be simply an online world in which many thousands of people will do as they please but some kind of team based event. Is this correct?

BOOO!

So my PostOp/Go Postal fiddle has started to reap rewards, I destroyed around 8 Go Postal vans before PostOp stock started to rise. Not sure how worthwhile it is because it did take ages to find them, until I stopped looking, and no way of telling if it's because I destroyed the vans or something else...

Second throw for me. Also stole the gas on the first attempt with no trouble getting away from the fuzz. 8)

Did anybody go in dumb and loud?

Also just on the military dockland mission, what option did everybody take? I have gone for A but I'm not sure it sounds as fun.

I got the knockout gas in first time - easy.

I just did hit the Lost and Damned trailer park. First time, woke up the bikers and got shot. Second time, realised I had a silenced sniper rifle, took out a few, still got spotted though and just gunned them down. By the time I blew the place up no-one was there.

Got all three main chars in play now.

I love the way they designers have actually made that climb good to ride down by putting in jumps and drops as part of the trail. There even seems to be a bit of a natural wall ride if yo can manage it.

Agreed. Cycling up the mountain for the first time, I was planning on riding straight back down as fast as I could and could see various drops and interesting lines. On the way down, the trail naturally guides you over the jumps and drops, damn fine work from the game designers!

I just did it all stealthy, no problem at all, didn't disturb them. Big fan of the explosions.

Was ok getting the gas in the A/C unit - took about 4 throws, but nicking the van in the first place was a bloody nightmare! I suspect breaking down the doors was easier than nicking the whole van though.

Is there a good way to make cars explode? I want to create mass havoc on the freeways, but find myself emptying several clips at a car before it explodes, any tips?

In previous GTAs shooting the filler cap would usually be 1 shot explosion but haven't tried it on 5, attaching sticky bombs to cars stuck in a line of traffic is much more fun.

One thing I'm a bit disappointed about is the police are psychic.

I noticed a load of police wondering about looking at something and I sneaked up and left sticky bombs on their cars.

Then sneaked off and waited for them to go back to their cars and KABOOM.

It was in the middle of nowhere and no one witnessed it...but police from miles around appeared and chased me everywhere.

I got it the other day, only done the first mission, just been pratting about....

Managed to get hold of a mountain bike, put it in the back of a pick up & drive it up the big mountain, then downhill the hell out of it & die, presumably due to the 26" wheels & no dropper post.......

Has anyone managed to get into the air force base (fort zacuda?) & nick a tank yet?

Not a tank, a fighter jet. They blew me out of the sky on my first 3 attempts, managed to avoid the missiles on my 4th attempt but then blew it up landing it coz I forgot to put the undercarriage down 😳

Just nicked the Cargobob, too easy. Hooned it into the base on a dirt bike, rode straight to it, flew off and kept low around the coast.

Going back for a jet, and maybe a tank.
