My parents dog went missing yesterday and it got me thinking whether you can get GPS pet tracking devices. I''ve googled it and the results were pretty expensive. Does anyone use these? If so, any recommendations?

Thanks but that is more of a recorder than a tracker. I was wondering if there is a system that allows live tracking.

https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/prod67686.html

Might be a bit bulky for smaller dogs though.

I've got one that you put a sim card in, send it a text and get the gps lat/long back as a text message. I'm going to use it to track team mates during races.
Something like this one:

Have you looked at http://www.retrievatracking.com/default.aspx
I had one of their older tracking collars that you could track via viewranger on a smart phone or pc, looks like a new style collar now though.
