It came up in discussion involving beer and I just Googled WorldClassAccident.

The normal search brought back STW and my car stuff.
The images search brought back what I had posted on these threads.

Does this mean that whatever I Google for is based on what else I have done on the machine or does it mean that I am the only WorldClassAccident on the world?

If you search Google would you get different results?

Never done it before but it could explain why some celebs are so self obsesed. Every time they Google themsleves they just see what ever they have posted recently.

Sorry, Saturday and beer involved.

If someone had asked me 15 years ago if I'd been googling myself.... I'd just have said yes. Who didn't at 16 years old?

I'm slightly disturbed that google Image search of my name lists me at 2nd, 7th, 13th and 20th position. All different pics, too.

I think Google is stalking me. :-/

Just did a Google Image search for 'footflaps'. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you're into very graphic images of foot reconstruction surgery.....

My google results are as you would imagine, rather tempting.

You can check your anonymous google results by turning on 'private browsing' / porno mode or whatever it is called in your particular web browser.

I sometimes google our clients when I get a feeling they may be exagerating their problems, I work in personal injury law. The defendants will look for anything to turn cases down so I sometimes do it. Investigators hired by the defense will go further to prove the client is exagerating symptoms, so I do have a look to see if anything obvious is online.

Apparently some prospective employers google people, for that reason alone it is wise to check what is on-line. I have an unusual name so lots of stuff about me does come up, I have tightened security on some sites I use to make less information available.

Just checked again and I'm now staring in Emmerdale.

No idea how I fit it all in.....

Google my name, and I'm a BBC news reporter and a Welsh (erk!) Rugby player. And my dad was a commentator on LWT, and also an English (phew!) Rugby player and now on BBC Sport.

Actually didn't google that (that would be silly). Just need to watch telly. It's annoying when BBC news guys introduce me on telly.

Thanks for the private browsing tip. I'd always wondered what other people see if they google my name or that of my business. Turns out that my business comes up first on google! Win! (Makepiece if you're curious).

My name also brings up real pictures of me - which, as it's a very distinctive name with no famous namesakes, you'd kind of expect. However it's slightly scary how much there is about me on t'internet.

I'm not sure Private browsing is really private, it disables cookies etc, but your IP is still the same, so Google etc knows it comes from your household and will still filter results accordingly. You'd have to use a 3rd party proxy to really go private or the Tor network etc.

Sorry, no. But a while ago - when she was still Nicola Sherlock - we were approached by another designer to collaborate on some work. I did briefly worry that she'd go off with her just because Sherlock Holmes sounded like a naming opportunity too good to miss. A nice line in deerstalkers, perhaps..
