my director just called me into his office.. always scarey during times like these... I just got a pay raise that I've been promised for more than a year.
ok thats the good news..
the bad news... I can't decide what I should spend it on... a KitKat bar or a bag of crisps.
not really an earth shattering sum, but with so many being made redundant lately I guess I shouldn't complain. ( being made redundant = no one in my organization )
Yup you still have a job and that is something to be grateful for.

Same at our place just before Christmas - we all got 2.5% raise
Some people were almost incandescent with rage that it was less [just] than inflation - some of them need a reality check
further bad news.. my director just sent an email to everyone in our division advising them of my happy news...
I'll be watching my back on the way out the door tonight.
Send one to you boss asking why he has disclosed personal information to all staff.
Or you could just be a little less self-congratulatory in such tough times
