I have inherited an art deco china teapot with a (probably sterling) silver handle. The handle attaches to a band around the teapot at the top.
The glue used to afix said band to china in the 1930's has failed and as a result the band & handle lifts off when picking it up.
Looking to glue this back together properly. Before I reach for the tube of superglue, what is the est glue to stick them together?, bearing in mind it will be being used as a tea pot and the heating / cooling implications therein.
Many thanks
Epoxy, superglue doesn't fill gaps (or even work with them).
I've superglued a broken mug, it broke again, now it's epoxied and fine.
Two-pack epoxy, accept no substitute. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just make sure it’s really well mixed in equal quantities.
