I'm more worried about the apparently increasing prevalence of these things
I reckon whilst the Great Church of Global Warming is busily worrying us all to death about going to a [s]wet[/s] [s]hot[/s] [s]cold[/s] [s]freezing[/s] hell, this is a much more immediate issue
What d ya think?
There was an article in new scientist years ago linking the two.
Basically as ice melts the crust it sits on is allowed to rise, which is why place like Arran have 'beaches' half way up cliff faces. As the crust settles out again inevitably you get eathquakes/volcanoes.
Whether any particular event is a result of global warming is a different matter.
maybe the global warming water will 'put out' the volcanoes and then go down the earthquake cracks and we'll all be fine

Tectonics .......Be grateful.....
Yup, I couldn't handle sharing a common border with the United States.
