I need to travel to Ikea in Glasgow today. Can anyone tell me what the weather is like(coming from Dumfries & Galloway)?. Id like to go today if i can as i have borrowed a van to pick up some wardrobes, however i dont want to have to negotiate large quantities of snow.
Thanks

Couple of inches of snow in east dunbartonshire (north east of Glasgow) and just stopped snowing. Main roads will be fine I reckon, ikea is just next to the motorway.

I'm in stonehouse just south of Glasgow and it's currently snowing lightly but looks like it's on for the day. Main roads should be clear but there were a few accidents yesterday.

How's it down in Dumfries, I need to head home later.

Keith.

Just looked out the window again and it's coming down pretty heavy. I'd leave it unless it's really urgent.

Might stay put myself for another day.

Thanks for the info guys,I made it. Was a bit touch and go M8 onwards.
On the plus side it meant we didn't have time to wander around buying crap we don't need.
