I'm in Glasgow with work and I'm told it's Glasgow Fair today. Should I be going on the lash to support the locals?

Anyone I've asked about it doesn't seem to know what it's all about

Aye, long since gone, paisley Kilmarnock etc had fairs as well, basically all big industrial towns did.

Surely similar periods must gave existed in the north and Midlands?

As said, it's an old holiday, normally works would start their 2 weeks off today, but that's long gone. these days, it's just bank holiday equivalent of the english early august? bank holiday.

Made good use of it myself, cobwebs blown away, 27 miles yesterday, 32 miles today, weathers been great! 🙂 I'm probably gonny hurt a bit the morra. 😆

Thanks Ben, not the correct answer!

Big holiday in my part of the world was last week and relates to the Bonfire thread that I've avoided on purpose. Suppose I'll just go watch Linfield on Weds 😀

The locals, traditionally, will be on the lash in Blackpool today
