that'll be Bombay Saphire/Plymouth/Aldi Oliver Cromwell..

like sapphire, but tanquerays where it's at for me much smoother, though that may be my (wayward) pallet.

About 1:3 gin:tonic with a dash of Angustura bitters. Pink gin is the future.

1 gin to 3 tonic. Always a slice of lime. 3 cubes.
For high days and holidays we indulge ourselves with a bottle of Hendrick's. Other times Sapphire.

Currently enjoying a caorunn gin and tonic.
50:50 lots of ice and a wedge of red apple.
Surprisingly good.

-1 for Bombay sapphire.

Try with cucumber instead of lemon or lime. It is sublime (door, coat).

No, no. A homeopathic G&T would be a glass with just tonic in it...

Mmm wifes cousin was doing a similar mix last night at a bit of family gathering, she was completely steaming after about 3 hrs and went home just after 8, much to the annoyance of her kids who were playing quite happily with all the other kids here!!

perhaps i should have been more specific:

drop 4 slices of cucumber into the bottom of a pint glass.

pour in 1 shot of Gin (40ml) (Hendricks if available).

put your stirry thing in.

half fill the pint glass with ice cubes.

pour in enough Tonic so the glass is 2/3rds full.

give it a stir.

enjoy - you are now ready for the rest of your breakfast.

(the procedure described above will give you a gin:tonic ratio of roughly 1:5)

There are 4 grades of gin and tonic

recreational (about 6 parts tonic to 1 part gin)
robust (about 4:1)
racy (about 2:1)
Rantzen (about 1:3) - just enough tonic to make it fizzy. So called cos it strips your gums off your teeth and makes you smile like its namesake.

As usual the missus has pointed out i'm a dumbass!

Its actually slightly tonic heavy. The ice had confused me (not hard!).

Defo think that alcoholic drinks should taste of alcohol though?

Following on from everyones input i may try adding cucumber and will certainly try pints!!

I'm on a certain Mr Daniels, I find the ratio increases the more I drink, so, maybe a small measure of jack to the Coke 1:5, then as the night progresses they swap sides, so it ends up with the Jack outnumbering the coke by about 5:1

Seems a fair way of doing it, should work well with Gin

FFS, just taken me 9 attempts to post this 😆

Alternatively. Angosturas spun round glass and thrown away and then neat gin thereby making a proper pink gin or gin and dry martini with an olive. Both mind-blowing and lovely lovely.

There are 4 grades of gin and tonic

When you go beyond this you realise that Gin is not great to get drunk on by itself and you really should have been better prepared/less desperate and had a decent whisky or any other kind of alcohol in stock at home.

You really shouldn't being feeling sick before you're drunk.

Not sure what Angosturas Bitters are but we have some in the house.

Put a drop or two of your bitters on a sugar cube, drop in your champagne flute and pour in a little brandy. Then add your Cava or Champers, lovely!
