Having no idea what a chemineer is, even after googling, not letting you play with it seems probably wise.

If you mean your "Chimenea" (wood burning device) then ignore her and get on with it, it'll be cold later and everyone will be happily sat round it & you'll just be able to give you g/f that smug look, knowing you were right and she was wrong.

Ditch her. You know it makes sense.
