I'm thinking of getting a security light for my back garden/shared drying green area. Has anyone in/near Edinburgh done this and can recommend anyone (electrician, presumably) to get a quote from? How much is getting a security light fitted likely to cost?
Obviously not salacious enough for the chat forum! Oh well I'll bump it anyway, in case the evening shift have anything to say on the subject.
There are some solar-powered PIR activated lights available.
I put one on my old house myself - waterproof cable along the wall then through an air vent to a wall socket inside. Probably not as aesthetically pleasing as a properly wired in one but did the job. Consider an automatic dusk to dawn light, as they are supposedly more of a deterrent to burglars and their ilk than PIR ones (according to reformed burglars according to research according to our crime prevention officer).
