Ooft, avoid the 6.90 update.
Battery life 100% - 0% in 24hrs. Seems it depends on your actual watch, so not all builds are the same.

I raised my issue with support a "new" watch is heading my way. No questions no discussion just "yep we'll send a new one".

So software borking hardware.

Had something similar with Vivosmart HR before. Have a Vivoactive 3 now but I'm not sure it gives me any choice about updates, we'll see

Currently running 6.90 and no issues so far but thank you for the heads up. As Kelron said, pretty sure the watch just goes "bzzzz Software Updating..." and have to live with it

Presume this does not apply to the Music Version, as I have auto-updates also and have a SW Version of 4.90
but in other news I have got notificaitons back again after unpairing everything and doing a delete/reinstall of Garmin connect - not exactly sure where the issue lay - it was communicating with the phone OK and uploading rides, but just not doing notifications?

on 6.9 with no issues.

However i often have to reset the watch after an update to get back functionality although strangely not in this case.

unless your talking about gps and then its flat in about 6 hours.

Hmm, mine’s lost 20% of charge in 6 hrs. The update to 6.9 took ages to complete. I’ve got the weather widget and that now constantly says the phone isn’t connected, when it is.

Funnily enough, just contacted Garmin last night as mine isn't holding charge to well either. Not as bad as some of you, granted, seems to last about 2ish days recently, used to comfortably get 5.

As usual they're asking about watch faces, backlights etc, even though I've told them I've changed nothing....

I’m on 4.9 on the music version so it looks like a non-music specific issue.

Running 6.9. Didn't even notice it updating TBH, but I have thought it's running down the battery more than usual recently. Getting about a couple of days if I don't use GPS tracking. Probably only about 30% down on previously. Will keep an eye on it I guess.

OH is on 6.90 no issues. They did seem to link it to certain watches so something to do with build?

3 phonecalls later (got cut off twice) and they're sending me a brand new boxed unit, not a watch-in-a-bag refurbished model. My arguement was that I bought a new watch with a 2 year warranty, not a refurb, so why replace with a refurb?.

They couldn't, and didn't, argue.
