Is it possible to use the VP on my turbo without adding any course of whatever before hand? All I want to do is have something like the VP race me at a speed I set over a distance I chose. Chasing something, even virtual is better than nothing. The Garmin sites and almost everywhere else just go on about using a recorded track or something.

Assuming you have a speed/cadence sensor on your rear wheel..... then turn it on, go to settings>GPS>off (if you're in doors; should stop the thing hunting for satellites), back to main menu and scroll to virtual partner and set the speed you are aiming for using the +/- on the top of the screen. Push start and off you go. HTH.
