I stopped a fall on Saturday by putting my hand in a gorse bush. I now have 11 small bits of thorn in my hand. Will they just come out as my skin replaces itself, or do I need to have a GP repeatedly stab my hand?

I've ended up digging them out with a needle before... I found they showed no sign of wanting to come out naturally, maybe they just get pushed down all the time. They hurt when any pressure was applied so I bit the bullet and sorted them out the old fashioned way...

You should try taking a header over the handlebars landing 6ft into gorse. Then wait as your mates discuss for a few minutes on who's going to help you out.

You'll be OK. They come out.....eventually

Yeah, I can heartily recommend this one if you want to itch all over for days on end. Still have no idea how I managed to swan-dive head-first into a gorse bush from a straight, flat farm track... 😐

Watch out for infection. A squaddie died from gorse scratches a few years ago.

Googling for that I came across this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1518810/Grandmother-dies-after-scratch-from-gorse-on-dog-walk.html
