Anyone got one?
I'm liking the look of the MTG-1200, stylish enough for smart wear yet still rugged to wear all the time and solar powered with radio updates to keep the correct time.

Do they ever need servicing? I've spend loads on servicing my current seiko kinetic and I'd like to avoid that if possible.

I've got fairly skinny wrists (despite being a fatty!), do the g-shocks look too big and bulky on those with girly proportioned wrists?

I have been using a lower spec G-Shock for the past three years. Never take it off and it has had lots of abuse - I managed to crash into a tree with enough force to leave a watch shape bruise on my arm, the G-Shock was fine. It is solar powered and has radio updates. No servicing needed to date, I think that eventually the internal battery can stop holding charge, but would imagine (and hope!) that would be a long time off.

The only fault I have had with it is one of the pins in the metal strap broke a few weeks ago. I managed to get a replacement one fairly easily. Also all the lettering has worn off the bezel, just leaving the recessed letters, if I was really bothered I am sure I could sort that out.

The auto time updating is great, although whenever I go abroad I never have any idea on how to actually change the time on the watch!

They are chunky compared to normal watches, so worth trying on before you buy.

Had a original G-Shock, which lasted me 20 years, the battery needed replacing every 3-4 years I guess and thats all I ever needed doing to it.

Worth looking at the GW-M5600 series, they look better on slimmer wrists, not so chuncky.

I replaced my original one for a M5600 with atomic clock and solar charging, very pleased with it.

Thanks Ski. I'll definitely try before I buy. I prefer analogue watches so I'll keep my eyes peeled. Or just order one from Amazon and send it back if it looks stupid. ๐Ÿ˜‰
