[Closed] Franke taps - leaks?

Hi all. Need to replace a leaking mixer tap in my kitchen. It's a Franke and we've noticed that it's leaking through a very small crack in the spout itself. It's not the first problem we've had with leaks - the cold valve needed replacing about a year ago.

I'm looking at possibly replacing it with another Franke. Our tap is pretty old (7+ years), so the fact it needs replaced hasn't put me off getting another one, but looking online at some customer reviews, it seems others have also had issues with leaks.

I assume it's just a case of being able to find a negative review for anything you search for on Google, but thought I'd check on here, just in case.

So, does any else have (or have had) any Franke taps? Any problems with leaks? If so, any suggested alternatives? My other option is just picking up a 'Swirl' from Screwfix, which I think is their own brand. Reviews seem okay and I've been generally impressed with Screwfix own-brand stuff in the past, but it does look a bit cheap in comparison to the Franke. I guess because it is!

Thanks!

FWIW, I've always found that Bristan taps are decent quality and not too expensive. Available from Screwfix and many plumbers' merchants.

In the house I own - we have an Ikea - massively well built, tight action, never dripped and the extra flexi spout on the top is great for spraying anyone else across the room if they're being mouthy

+1 for Bristan. However, I just completed a kitchen and fitted a Franke monoblock tap. It felt like good quality. Time will tell.
Bear in mind hard water will reduce the life of ant tap.

Thanks all. I've ordered a Bristan, so I'll see how I get on with it.
