And if anyone mentions Agile, there’s gonna be a slat hoofing…

Agile doesn't mean deploy to prod without going through testing!

IHN, you mean this is the MVP?

Well, it's certainly a minimum product, so it depends as to whether you agree with Meatloaf and two out of three ain't bad...

Apologies if this has been covered but is there still a way to look at a list of all the threads you've posted in, along with who the last post was by and when it was made?

 There is no test environment.

There's at least two that I'm aware of.

if the tech guys could solve the issue of the text window being wider than my phone while typing this it would be fine on mobile.

Turning your phone to landscape has been reported by others as a workaround.

Not currently, no, it got broke. Some of that functionality may be available in a Chrome Extension today or tomorrow, but it needs to be tested properly first 😉

Ta aracer.

It's great that someone can quickly design Chrome extensions to make websites do the things they used to do perfectly well, just shows what's possible with some talent and application eh? 😛

Don't say that. It's embarrassing enough already.

Anyone know what the expandable box at the bottom that says p or sometimes p > span in it is all about? This is all jolly good fun isn't it!
If you remind me what your github username is I can add you as a contributor and try to work out how to add you on the chrome add-on store thing too. If I can’t add you on chrome I can just try transfer ownership if you want. I don’t really have much interest in the tool anymore…

I've already contributed on github and some of my code is in the released version (I did multi-page quoting - now that is certainly obsolete now, I'm going to delete all the code for that, but not for now to avoid breaking anything). I'm not atp if you need a better clue 😉 Not sure I'm likely to do a lot more with it, I've always hoped it would become unnecessary and it should now apart from for blocking people, but that all works and was easy to fix.

Though I note that updates have already broken some of what I'd done (very easy fix, but it's broken for now), so it feels like until it settles down it's maybe more suitable for sideloading rather than an "official release".

Well to be fair it's an existing extension and any new functionality (rather than just fixing stuff where html elements have been renamed) will be a horrible hack. But it will be vaguely tested before I hand it out.

Maybe this was Mark's plan all along? Show us that we can all pull together and fix the problems ourselves?* Like a team building exercise, where we all go out to the woods, and the next morning Barry from accounts has vanished and we never talk about it again.

*Well...get aracer to.

I just came to post up something that explains this - the posts are there, it's just that the posts in old threads are presented in a somewhat random order.

E,g, - this thread I started
http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/discountbicyclescouk-anyone-used-them/

My opening post is post 3.

EDIT - I've still not got any buttons for quoting, adding links, images etc

Request: can someone post a screenshot of the issue with the Post box scrolling / Submit button inaccessible on mobile devices please?

FWIW, I also have to put the phone in landscape mode to get the submit button on the image dialogue box onto the screen

Also, test a theory for me please?  Is there a correlation between "no button bar" and "preview button not working"?  Anyone have one and not the other?

The preview appears above the Post box, and takes a few seconds.  You might have to scroll up slightly to see it.

Right-o, I've been out working and earning an honest daily crust all day, can someone please summarise the fixes that have been done today and what now works, which might be the shortest approach 😉

Still no communiques of anything I can see from whoever, obviously likes to keep their customers in the dark. Which is as per from businesses within the marketing and communications and social media and news sector/s really... :~

Regrettably Chewkw, it appears to be nothing to do with subscriber or no. I wonder if it’s to do with number of reported posts or such? I take it you’ve no buttons either?

I have no idea regarding reported posts or such ...

Yes, no buttons whatsoever. Also preview still doesn't work. I have the preview button but it does not work even when I click it. As for the rest of the buttons I just get blank page. I am using latest Firefox browser btw.

Even when I switch to IE it is the same. 🙂

Completely unscientific and subjective but I feel like this forum is significantly less busy than it used to be. Threads don't seem to drop down/disappear anywhere near as quickly.

I have no button bar, I have a Preview button but it doesn't work. Also the Reply buttons below each post only scroll the reply box into view - are they supposed to also quote the post?

I presume it's somehow related to scripts or style sheets which are downloaded separately?

I'm only popping in once or twice a day now. I'm struggling to find the threads I'm interested in an got fed up of the broken quotes etc. I'll probably use it more when it's all fixed.

Hmm, I'm intrigued, because checking the source (in order to sort out the extension) there are clearly two different ways of quoting, because there are two different sets of tags in the code. I'm manually adding [quοte] tags, but Cougar and scotroutes (amongst others) are clearly doing something different - presumably using the buttons. When you use the buttons how do the tags/quote appear in the reply box?

I dunno if you've noticed but the reply box is an iframe with an entire new page in it. I imagine that could be complicating things?

I'm sure it'll be fine soon. I'll work out what all the buttons do when it's fixed.

Some people really need to get a bit of perspective. Apart from the missing u in 'favorite', obviously. Please fix that asap, or else I'm driving down with a ladder and some bog roll.

I'm using Notepad to 'launder' quoted text before pasting.

Why do that? Just paste as plain text or use the clear formatting button (next to the insert image button)

Copy.

Click in reply box to bring up cursor.

Put mouse cursor over cursor in reply box.

Right click.

Paste as plain text.

Highlight pasted text

Hit the Blockquote button

(This is Chrome on W10)

Of course, you can also use Ctrl-Shift-V to insert unformatted text
