Jeez, from the supposed leaked images on Twitter there's nothing in what I saw other than him hinting for pics and her refusing (unless I've not found the correct screen shots).
(Assuming they are legit) it reads like they are/were having an affair or sexting. However this may have instead been her replying like that because it was implied she would lose her job if she didn't go along with it. (again, assuming the leaked screenshots are legit)
I think it is best to reserve judgement until this stuff has been verified.
I would imagine the CEO (or whatever his job is) having an affair, or even sexting, a junior employee wpuld count as gross misconduct. Certainly wpuld anywhere I've worked.

For the benefit of everyone else (so we don't have to pollute our browsing history and get bombarded with DM related ads or articles), did the DM actually shed any more light on this subject or are they regurgitating the same rumours/speculation that's here?

I have just been sat reading the google drive messages. Jesus christ he was/is like a love sick child if the texts are true. Talk about pestering.

Strange that if you google "horner screenshots" and look at Images you see the thumbnail on the Reddit page but when you click through it has been redacted. Still, the ones you can see are all pretty tame - "What are you doing" "See you soon" "Are you enjoying Bahrain" ....

The reason I think they're fakes is that surely the woman trying to prove her case would have shown her WhatsApp messages to the barrister, wouldn't she? I can't believe Red bull would be stupid enough to think they could pretend the messages didn't exist, surely?
the google drive link is easily accessible on twitter now. The screenshots I've seen on twitter are only of the less 'racy' messages. It's clear that some kind of affair is going on and the 'other woman' is at the least, very unsure about it's wisdom. Horner is calling late at night and getting rebuffed, it's all very tawdry and sad.
Unless the messages are all fake, there's no way hes keeping his job.

They may know they exist but do believe they are able to explain them and dismiss them as 'playful and consensual workplace banter' perhaps? If you have an eager young lawyer who wants to show the client how good he is and the client asks 'Can you defend against these messages' the Answer may come back as 'Yes, I can get these dismissed and then stir up public anger about people making false sex allegations, every powerful man in authority will lend their weight to that campaign and they will make Horner a Saint'

Is it normal for an organisation to appoint their own 'unbiased and impartial' lawyer to investigate? It just feels that, if the lawyer is being appointed by the company, and that company is the defendant, then that lawyer probably isn't going to be unbiased, no?

I don't know how common it is, but it's a sensible way to investigate - hire someone unconnected to the company with a solid legal background to investigate and give an opinion. If there are criminal charges involved, the police will investigate, but this isn't a criminal matter AFAIK.

Indeed. Actually I'm not quite feeling as much schadenfreude as might be expected because it is pretty clear that this issue has been used by certain people in order to take down Horner. I suspect those people are just as unpleasant as he is.
From a purely selfish point of view, a Red Bull team in turmoil can only be a good thing for the season.
