I received a letter yesterday informing me that my Fiesta has to go in for an urgent recall due to the Glow Plug Control Relay.
Nothing major, just the fact it can catch fire 😯
Apparently, this potential fire can happen at any point, even if the car is parked up as its permanently live.
Spoke to Bristol Street this morning and the part is on back order and I got a booking date of December the 5th. Seems a bit of a long wait if it's such a fire risk.
Has anyone experienced similar before ? Is it just that it may happen and has happened once so they are being careful ?
Should I call Ford themselves and kick off or am I worrying unnecessary ?
Cheers
Yikes. What model Fiesta?
I wouldn't worry - it looks like it's been on a recall for a couple of years and you're not dead yet...

Never mind - I checked the recalls here:

Well what about all those tumble driers that have been catching fire? It took almost a year for an engineer to contact us to get ours fixed (although at the very last minute we took the option of a replacement drier for £19)
Cheers guys, yeah that's it.
2 years to get a letter to me.
I'm not as worried now.
Meh, Zafira's have that trick as well I believe.
They do yeah, I quite like it.....makes my dull dad van a little more interesting
Probably the same relay.Meh, Zafira's have that trick as well I believe.
I would imagine petrol Fiestas will be fine...
I had this letter last year, rung the the place where I bought the Fiesta (mine is an 11 plate btw) and was told to bring it in next day. Made me coffee and did it there and then. Well impressed.
Could you not try another ford dealer?
