Yes, you live in a rat-infested ****-hole with no decent pubs, full of tories, nowhere worth riding within 100 miles etc, but..... BUT....

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23771086-where-the-capitals-bendy-buses-go-to-die.do

Hats off for that

Can we borrow Boris for a bit please? Just a week or two. That's all it should take for him to pass the legislation to get those bloody things off the streets.

Then you can have him back. Actually we could keep him for a bit longer to wind the scousers up. I heard they don't get on 🙂

with no decent pubs

the one GOOD thing about London is (are?) it's pubs.

EDIT:

Watch Top Gear for "Touring Car drivers in Crazy Bendy Bus Race" stunt soon

They were great for people who chose not to pay.
They were great for blocking junctions for cars, cyclists and pedestrians alike.
They were great for catching fire.

Apart from that, dangerous rubbish. Glad to see the back of them.

WTF? Boris is a complete moron. For every bendy bus that gets taken off it needs to be replaced with about 3 single deckers which cause even more problems than the original bendy busses. The whole proces has cost a fortune too.

Waste of time and money getting rid of them IMO.

vote winning policy and nothing else.

any problem with that? If it's the will of the people who live in london to get shot of them, then so be it. I thought that's what democracy was all about. Or does it only count with Labour candidates?

as kimbers says, I always thought theyd get sold to other councils. Probably in the North. Probably Labour controlled. 😉

They've got a couple in Bath that run up to the Uni. Bloody things are a pain in a city with fairly narrow roads, especially one as small as Bath.

their biggest problem is that they are too big for most streets in london and the not paying thing did piss me off, tho was always funny when the bus got checked by one of those roving squads of conductors all the scallys would crap themselves and try and get off, which they couldnt

they did a good job of moving a lot of people on the really busy routes, something that will be sorely missed though all 3 routes they are keeping them on are very heavily used so they know that there is no alternative
you would have to replace them with 3 buses to move the same amount of people in the same time
for a lot of people the bus is the most economical way of getting round london and it will be worse for them now

but then borris was just after getting the daily mail crowd riled about foreign style bendys coming and taking our bus routes! and that it would be much better to spend millions on a ten year project to reintroduce the routemaster- c o c k

is possible the cyclists swung it boris won by 150000 and there are 125000 cycle commuters (tho i cycle every day and went for red ken) but we all know it was the blue rinse brigade in the suburbs that voted in loveable boris (well and the city boys/ sloanies in their about to be c-charged up the arse porches/ chelsea tractors)

Are they not allowed a voice? as Stonor suggests, the whole "here are my policies, vote for me", thing seems to have worked...no?

Yes it's one of the problems with democracy that there is such an emphasis placed on pointless crowd pleasing measures that appeal to simpletons.

Jeez, you're not saying that the comedian sitting in the mayor's seat would ever be guilty of that kind of sheee-ite are you?

Democracy in action eh? To be fair to our shandy-drinking cock-er-ney comrades, making the choice between Boris and Ken is a bit like asking if you want your shit boiled or fried.

And watching the horrendous debacle at least showed every other city in the country that the last thing on earth they wanted was an elected mayor
