quick questions:
anyone had to replace the remote key fob? how much did you pay?
what side is your door lock mechanism on and what year?

All C4's have the lock on the nearside. a new key cost you about £80 plus programming. If the spring has broken, known fault. If out of warranty ask dealer to contact customer relations you might get a contribution towards cost

thanks. we've (and when i say we, i don't mean me 🙂 ) managed to destroy the remote key fob completely. quotes for replacement seem a little steep. could probably live with it if lock was on the proper side...
