Brighton and Spurs putting on a show...
Mrs Binners would just like to say a huge thank you to Spurs for being Spursy and Arsenal for doing an Arsenal, the odds of which were 24/1
That’s paid for a proper new year night out 😃
No Zouma, no Aguerd, Paqueta went off injured. I thought West Ham were going to get a hiding.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
Well done Mrs binners! I was in the car driving across London after visiting mum, listened to the first half, sounded like it should have been about 5-0 by half time. Spurs not back at work after the festive break! Cuti out injured (hamstring) and the make shift defence was all at sea! Oh dear.
Great performance from Brighton 🥳
It's the Man City post Christmas voodoo on all challengers to their title.
Despite the score, Spurs absolutely battered Brighton at the end, but you can't just start playing after 70 minutes.
Caught the end of the Arsenal match as well - West Ham looked really well drilled and disciplined in defence.
I felt confident before kick off that we’d beat spurs. Most teams that try and press our CBs just play into our hands. 1st half we were so good and could’ve had a couple more goals. <br />Estupinian’s goal was something else and it’s great to see him back. We definitely took our foot off the gas when Milner and Pedro went off which allowed Spurs back into it. Just glad they have Richarlison up front now instead of Kane else it could have ended 4-4.
Ah, you never get a boring spurs game this season, watched some of it, it was chances for both sides throughout, spurs should've got one before half time, a few chances and just bad finishing, it was just the type of game for Brighton though, letting them play the way they like. It is a shame spurs have lost so many key players through injury, think they may want to pick up a centre back in January.
I do think that there might need to be a winter shut down soon, i know internationals are pushing them, but the amount of injuries this year is unreal, today's players are like thoroughbreds, and being run into the ground with all the games they're getting.

spurs had 3 shots on target, all game, that’s not a battering, Brighton had 9 on target:)
Any predictions for todays latest seasonal onslaught of footy?
I’m not relishing watching an in-form Elanga and Wood making mincemeat of our alleged defence and comedy goalkeeper.
I’m going a goal and two assists for Elanga, just to rub in the lunacy of letting him go for £15m, then spending a fortune on ludicrously overpriced donkeys like Antony
Ok, Al-Taawon to demolish Al-Nassr in the tyrant league.
In front of a ‘crowd’ of 165 people?
Yes, including all the playing and coaching staff.
As city fan I was sad to see him go, but still suspect he wouldn't have had the minutes at city to achieve what he has at chelsea. So far Palmer out and Nunes in does not look like good business.
At the time everyone thought that chelsea had paid well over the odds, but he is one of their rare notably successful transfers in over the past few years.
What a game that was?! Absolutely bonkers!
No way did Chelsea deserve 3 points out of that. How many blocks and goal line clearances did Silva have to make? Plus they rattled the crossbar twice.
Palmers second goal was a peach though. Listening to his post-match interview, could he be any more Manc? 😂
I saw it more as Palmer out Doku in - suspect the Doku signing was what prompted him to leave. Probably a bit prematurely in my opinion, hardly anyone plays every game now and I think he’d have been rotated wide with Grealish, Doku, Foden. Good player.
Ah, enough EPL nonsense, good to see Celtic winning today after weeks of negativity in the press, now back to EPL nonsense 😂
Boys will be boys! 🙄

It's been quite heavily on various fan sites, but many have had posts removed - potential libel if untrue I read somewhere
I can understand the objection from the clubs owners to getting 16 year olds pregnant. Normally you’d have been married to them for 3 years by that point 😂
Back to the actual football and this has to be a contender for the worst 45 minutes of football I’ve ever watched
Like 2 pub sides on a Sunday morning after everyone involved has had a heavy Saturday night and got in at 4am. Good luck to the MOTD. Editors trying to find any ‘highlights’ from that.
I did enjoy Gary Neville’s dig at the New Years honours list, looking at the pictures of SurAlex and Sir Dave Brailsford sat next to each other ‘well at least there are two people who actually deserve them’. That’s actually the most entertaining thing that’s happened during this match. Truly bloody awful!
Injury time winner for United seems inevitable.
Yeah, they do seem to be falling in the box a lot as well, 90+5 penalty awarded for Garnacho tripping over the 18 yard line
Mrs Binners has been studiously disinterested in this match (I don’t blame her), then when they held the board up suddenly yelled ‘10 minutes?!!! For what?!!! Because Fergie’s sat in the *ing crowd?!! This better not * my betting up!”
She’s got money on Forest, obviously 😂
ETH seems pretty deluded, basically saying everything will be fine when they get their injured players back. Only Burnley and Sheffield United have scored fewer goals, that’s pretty damning to be honest.
It’s absolutely pitiful! Loads of squads have just as many injuries and aren’t as toothless up front and wide open at the back
The problem is the constantly pathetic, half-arsed capitulations by the players on the pitch
Who’s going to come back and miraculously change things? Martial? Mason Mount? Yeah… some real world class game-changers there
The whole squad is a ludicrously expensively assembled joke!
2 points cover 4 teams at the top at this half way point. Will city now begin the relentless cruise to the title? I think so but I guess there will be lots more daft games and results yet.
TBF, when playing well Mount is a superb player.
Will city now begin the relentless cruise to the title?
It’s difficult to see anything other than that. They’ve such depth to the squad, unlike the teams around them, if key players go out injured they just don’t miss them. Losing De Bruyne hasn’t really had much of an impact. It means they can rotate players properly too.
Mount - as all the managers he’s played under rate him very highly. Tactically astute, good presser, scores and creates. Liverpool wanted him but he chose United - he must look in the mirror each morning and think WTF have I done! He was a typical United signing actually - good player but lost in an incoherent system and similar to what they have.
Not a single player who’s arrived at Old Trafford improves. The opposite happens. They regress and go backwards. He was another player bought in that you just thought ‘why? Where does he fit? What is the manager actually trying to achieve here?’
Answers on a post card, because I can’t fathom it and the players on the pitch certainly seem none the wiser. Transfer policy appears to be picking names at random out of a hat, then adding 50 million to the asking price
United is the graveyard of careers. Players and managers. I can’t fathom why anyone would now sign for them other than the obvious.., the crazy contracts they dish out. Martial signed a five year deal on a quarter of a million a week. Sancho is on 340 grand a week to sit at home. Absolute madness!!
As a Forest fan I was really sad to see Cooper go, he'd given us so much, in such a professional manner. I think we've got lucky with Nuno, Lopetigu reportedly turned us down, Nuno has come in and pretty quietly just gone about his business. We're missing our main center forward and have been for months it has to be said.
He exploited the area behind the Newcastle full backs repeatedly to carve out 3 goals on boxing day, last night he targeted the absolutely gaping hole at the front center of the 18 yard box, both goal set ups where in that area as it's just bereft if any defensive cover - his experience and tactical nouse, with some added confidence and calmness throughout is really pushing us on, Toney will be looking to bounce back at Brentford at the next game in Jan but if we can win that cup final of a game we'll be securing that mid table mediocrity we've been striving for.
Meant a lot to Elanga last night, he's been a great signing for penny's along with HO.
Might be wrong but Nuno’s style is pretty defensive and counter attack based? So quite hard to play against but unlikely to secure much beyond mid table - which will test the owner’s patience.
Binners -United obviously need a better structure in place, which ineos will surely put in place. I think they’ll need another change in manager though so you’re probably still years off challenging consistently for the league. I think Rangnick said they were six years behind City, probably accurate.
It is counter attacking, from what I've heard from Wolves fans the first half is a battle of attrition with the second half making the result which was pretty much how last night played out.
At the start of the season it was rumoured the owner had his eye on tenth, I think most fans thought that was very ambitious and would have happily settled for mid to low bottom half, Nuno is making ground quickly though and he got Wolves into Europe which is the aim so I'm hoping he'll get to the end of next season at least, an upwards, everything is passive and an upwards tradgectory opens the door to 'better' managers, again they knocked on Tuchels door last year and got a firm no, not getting ahead of myself but of we can tidy up a bit more if the back room stuff the ambition is there
Can Forest expect anything more than mid table?
There seems to be a lot of borderline decisions ignored on MoTD.
The Fergie time for Man U not even mentioned.
I don't think anyone's thinking about us troubling beyond 10th but to the folks who've had season tickets from the long distant good memories and throughout all the bad times results like last night mean a huge amount in that ground, seeing some passion, and an unexpected result is enough for most, a good league position is a bonus.
It’s just like old times! Arsenal top at christmas, then proceeding to ‘do an Arsenal’. If normal service is resumed then they’ll be in their 5th place comfort zone by the end beginning of January
#WengerOut
😂
Just waiting for the Arteta interview 🤣
Spurs just a point behind them now, see they picked up another injury to a key player as well, they must have broken a few mirrors in that dressing room this year with their luck!
Just waiting for the Arteta interview
I will guess that it was the officials fault.
The first penalty dive was bad but you could argue against VAR intervening, but that second one was unreal, VAR pretty much pointless these days.
