Trent looks good - helps having Konate with his pace and power to cover when they are counter attacked. Pity he smashed that chance off the bar. Lots of talk of him going into midfield permanently but I don’t see it yet.

"I honestly think the worst thing for VAR is having referees as the VAR assistants,"

Yep. They look at an incident through the lens of 'what would I have done if I was the ref on the pitch rather than doing their actual job.

For the price of an Anthony Ajax would have sold you 2 Kudus and you'd still have some change in your pocket binners.

This season is littered with big money signings who struggle, spending £80 million these days doesn't get you guaranteed greatness, Grealish, Antony, Hojlund, Havertz, Nunez, the entire chelsea team, transfer fees just don't seem to be like they were 20 years ago, spend £10 million get a proven player, now it's spend £50 million plus and get a work in progress 😂

Dear god, Chelsea are absolutely awful! I think they’re actually worse than us. Quite some achievement.

They’ve just had 3 players clear on goal with just the keeper to beat and still not scored

Yeah, that was bad, Sterling is just greedy most of the time, it's 1-0 now Wolves, should be 2-0, that Jackson up front for Chelsea is Wolves best defender today 🤣

If Chelsea aren't in the champions league spots at the end of the season, that's when the FFP problems will really kick in, and they don't look to have much hope at the moment.

Early Christmas present for Wolves. I was hoping for a draw so three points is great.
Chelsea very poor, especially once they went behind.
It was nice not to have any VAR controversy!

I guess not looked as Odegaard fell? But yeah, surprised to see it not even checked

It was checked, not handball as they thought he was falling, or at least not an obvious error.

Just been confirmed that Jim Ratcliffe is buying 25% of Man U for c£1.25 billion.
Ineos will take over running of football operations and have committed to invest c£300 million.
Does this mean Sir Brailsford is on his way to Old Trafford?

Good news for jiffy bag manufacturers.

The curse of Ineos is on its way to Old Trafford, not that they need any help in that area.  Sky->Ineos, Ineos->Mercedes F1, Ineos Americas Cup attempt  that's quite the list.

I don't think too many folk near Grangemouth will be too enamoured with the guy spending that for a bit of man u and shutting up shop where he made his fortune

The 'falling' reason would be good, except he never touched the ground with his hand, and managed to then spin round and move the ball to an Arsenal player, as stated earlier, it was the VAR assistant refereeing the match, and should be stamped down on if VAR is to survive.

Why would he agree to buy 25%?

He could be out voted on anything he proposes, so it seems a bit strange to buy such a small %.

I don't think he was ever bidding for 100%.
As for being outvoted, Ineos will be running 'football operations' and I'm sure there will be a very clear definition of what that encompasses which will been fully legally agreed.

Because it seems that gives control of the actual football and I think that's what he wants. He's buying it as a very wealthy fan and I'm not sure the rest interests him. Says something about modern football though that the actual football part is only 25% of the value of the club

I can’t see it making much difference. He’s paid a couple of billion to still leave the Glazers in overall control.

I thought he was meant to be bright?

I can’t see it ending well. I don’t know what arrangements he’s made with those shysters, but I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could throw them

Radcliffe is only interested in stuff that's out of Europe.

mileys

Scored his first Premier League goal in front of 52,000 last week and his mammy still makes him do family jammies with his brothers.

Not sold on the colours.

Yeah, just what ManU need, another billionaire who appears to be more of a horrible human being than the current owners 🤣

Newcastle look out of ideas as a team just now, don't think they're going to have a happy season compared to last the way they're playing just now!

I’m so glad we got shut of Elanga. He’s scored more than the entire United frontline so far this season and has another two assists today. Another great call! 🙄

I had a feeling Newcastle would struggle against Forest today as they (unsurprisingly) look out on their feet, so it seemed well worth a punt on Forest at 7/1

To be fair, if you'd kept Elanga then it wouldn't have let the likes of Rashford and Antony to flourish like they have 🤣

I’m sure they’ll both demonstrate against Villa later how much they’ve pushed on since he left. That’s if either of them make the squad

Come on binners, at least Ratcliffe's arrival gives the possibility of significant changes.  You've got to be hopeful things improve,  surely.

Preston did us a favour today.

Just need to turn round our recent dip and stop the Leicester juggernaut this evening!

He’s attracted to the commercial aspect id venture. Why else did such a dyed in the wool United fan try and buy Chelsea last year?

While the Glazers are still in control at Old Trafford I have zero hope or expectation.

I predict that the whole ‘arrangement’ whatever it is, will have turned utterly toxic within months, with the Glazers not giving a toss what goes on on the pitch and just continuing to rinse millions out of the club.

I admire his intentions but think he’s essentially just been fleeced of £1.25 billion

Meanwhile in League One a giant is stirring, Reading seemed to have stopped the rot with a comeback against high flying Peterborough. This is the Day.

My bet on 3-0 to Villa is looking overly optimistic. Maybe 5 or 6 nil was more realistic

It just defies belief just how absolutely ****ing awful this present United side is. Every player in red on that pitch is a disgrace to the shirt

Villa are playing a very high line here, away from home, at OT, this is one weird match!

3-2 ManU now, Villa have been playing suicidal football this half, this is mental football.

Ratcliffe probably played them a video of their wives/kids/Aston Martins and what would happen to them if they didn't get their shit together.

Think it was more to do with whatever Villa had in their half time drinks, never seen a team defend a 2-0 lead away from home by playing a high line like that against 3 speedy attackers, you'd think that ManU were 2-0 up with that tactic, every long hoof ball was killing the villa defence and it stayed that way the whole half 😲

It's weird that all the buzz teams are faltering, Newcastle, Villa, Brighton, it's going to be another weird season i think for the top 4!
