A lot of them sound far too practical to be true follies. A good folly is eccentric, pointless, and completely unsympathetic to the landscape.

think this blokes follies are pretty good
He may even have been a decent MP, there's a dirty great wall around his (ex) house, which apparently got built when the locals were down on their luck.
his pyramid is an an 'olde Englishe churcheyarde',but it's surprisingly tranquil little place and it works
enfht - The word on the street back in the late 80s was that Adam Ant lived there, never found out if it was true.
