He's here - I was being mean to him last night.
I think Diz got fed up with all the 'laddish banter' that prevailed on here, and left, along with a number of women. In fact, few women seem to stick around for all that long, sadly. And it's only really a few idiots that let things down. Things do seem to have got a little less misogynistic recently thankfully.
It's Barnes I miss the most. 😥

konabunny comes and goes, although it's been a long while since he last posted. A great shame imo, I really like the guy ..... he often talked a lot of sense, which he combined with rather abrasive but excellent humour. And I was often on the receiving end 🙂
winstonsmith is another one who comes and goes, although he rarely makes an appearance at all these days. Again, I really like the guy and he talks a lot of sense which he also combines with sharp wit/humour.
It's always a loss when a character leaves STW imo.......even when it's Lanesra or AdamG.

Have been thinking about this - and whilst some of the banter can be off-putting, I would guess misogyny is not really one of the reasons you don't find as many female regulars as you might like.
I'm sure that since [b]stereotypically[/b] women aren't as 'hardcore' as men when it comes to sporting (or most) activities, this results in often intermittent interest - in both actual biking and discussing bikes.
[i]maybe[/i] women have less time to spend on internet forums, maybe their work doesn't permit (or offer sneaky opportunities to) browsing the internet all day - or perhaps their internet browsing time is spent on other things (like buying bras and panties 🙂 )
I myself do not lurk as much as I used to - because I finally realised that reading through STW takes up a grotesque amount of time - that I need to spend on other things 🙁

Still about SBZ. Not on here much due to lack of time (apparently being a student is better VFM in terms of hours per day worked compared with most the employed regulars on here), and being generally put off by the number of self-inflated approaching-middle-age male egos that exist on here; a broad church populated by narrow minded, set in their ways curmudgeons. I come on to look at people's photographs, generally speaking.
