How do you get there by plane in summer??
My GF is coming out to join me after the mega but it seems grenoble is shutdown, lyon is expensive and geneva is miles away any tips??
Chambery airport - Approximately 100km from Alp D'heuz.
Turin is a good airport for the summer.
Despite being "miles away" Geneva has always come up cheapest when I've been out to the French Alps recently.
If you're GF is travelling on her own the train could be worth a look. Regular TGVs serve Lyon and some run direct to Grenoble. If you time it right you can do it with only one change in Paris, Paris-Grenoble fastest train is sub 3 hours.
The TGV is ace, fantasticaly civilised way of travelling if only it didn't cost so much...
just found nice price return trains from Geveva to Grenoble which should make it all a bit easier
Train maybe good idea as the drive is a bit of a pig if its half term when you go. Geneva is about an extra 25 mins away compared to Chambery by car.
