Topic starter
Taking ages to spark into life, and occasionally doesn't quite light up properly with a slightly dim flickering.
Starter motor, or the tube?
There are some new style fluoro lights about now, no starter, instant start up - anyone had experiences, point me at a decent companies website for info/prices?
Cheers.

starter prob, cheap as chips to replace...try just twisting about/hitting it (softly) sometimes helps

Stroke the tube gently while it's starting.

Same happened to me. I bought a new starter from B&Q for pennies, and it works fine now.
