MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I had a bit of a bike accident last Wednesday, I'm fine but my bike defiantly not. Bummer, and I'd been meaning to join the CTC for a while. 😡
So I rang his insurance on Thursday to start a claim, pleasantly surprised with first contact and the bloke said, if you've not had a reply in a couple of days, give us a ring. No problem.
However, if you try and get through to their 'I'm not a customer but claiming from you' number, what's the chance of them actually answering the phone? Somewhere between slim and none. And they don't reply to e-mails.
1st Choice Insurance. Shysters.
Pretend to be a customer then.
I've already thought of that, or the make a new claim option, but suspect I'll just get shunted to the same queue.
Tell them you have the paperwork to start a small claims court action and see if that wakes them up.
Have you actually got details of your claim together? Not much they can do till then anyway.
At the moment I can't tell them anything!
I've not had an independent evaluation, I'm hoping they will make me an offer to make it all go away. I do however know how much a replacement bike, helmet and bib-tights cost, so have a figure in mind.
The union legal advice service, (not interested in taking it on unless making a personal injury claim) recommended small claims as the ultimate solution if necessary.

I am afraid you owe them a living so your payment of insurance is nothing but a way to prob up wages for someone else. It is compulsory to have insurance but they see it as their rights to fleece you as much as they can. 😯
Oh ya ... I bet they will reject your claim because of the hurricane season ... so be prepared.
OP - you have to make your claim against their policyholder. You have to tell them what you are claiming for, and justify it with receipts/headed estimates. That's how the system normally works.
OK, Ta. Just tried them again, (25mins, no answer!) I'm off on holiday on Friday so I'll send them a stinger by e-mail, with photo's, receipts and replacement costs with a date for resolution stated. Might try and find the name of their CEO and write him a complaint too.
