Obviously all the scare stories are true. They must be, the people sharing them call us sheeple and tell us to do our own research. So am I going to become a zombie mobile 5G transmitter? Or will Bill Gates use his newly implanted chip to give me some much needed computer skills? Obviously I'd rather that than become genetically modified or be culled to remove me from the benefits system. Maybe it will even make me support the Tories and Brexit? Has anyone started suddenly saluting when our glorious leader appears on TV yet?

Of course you'll die, but hopefully not of COVID 😀

p.s. if you do, can I have your bike?

Did you make your post from a smart phone OP? If so, no need to worry as that does everything a 5G microchip implant can do and much more besides!

Nah, you will be fine. The needle is small and you sound like someone who is used to a small prick 🙂

It's a bit of a lottery I think, but not a bad one.

My Friends Mum (82) cam home feeling a little tired, when to bed at 7pm on Monday, slept until midday on Wednesday, felt fine afterwards.

My Mum 64, pretty fit and able, no side effects at all.

My Dad, 63 had heart surgery a few years ago, not very fit, pretty high BMI felt tired for 24 hours and slept a lot.

My Wife 34, fit and strong had a sore arm for a day, lethargic for 10 days, lots of headaches - that said, she's a bit of a wimp, and enjoys a sofa if you know what I mean and is prone to headaches, second dose last week, no side effects at all.

You are being injected with a Bill Gates microchip so your computer skills may improve.

I had mine 4ish weeks ago.

I then got a chest infection/asthma/COVID (ok 2 tests were negative, but docs and nurses said all the symptoms were COVID.

Still recovering now.

So if you are lucky you might not die.

Ps its the second dose that properly kills you

Well, I for one am hoping that the rumours are all true and once vaccinated I can finally ditch the card and make contactless payments by waving my hand over the reader in the supermarket checkout while saying "solucionis"...

My 87 year old dad and myself got no side effects, however all 20-somethings at work had time off because if it. However 75% of them don't need an excuse to have sick leave so it's no guarantee that they actually felt unable to work 🤷‍♂️

Since then one colleagues other half got Covid, he was unvaccinated & had flu like symptoms and was quite I'll. His partner who has had one dose also tested positive & said it felt like a mild cold. So pretty much says the vaccine is working and worth a few days possible discomfort.

Looking forward to my second jab and the accompanying stamp in my passport

I am enjoying my personal line to Bill Gates and being a wifi hotspot since getting mine

In all seriousness I had a sore arm for 24 hours and thats it - and I usually react badly to vaccines

I had mine at the weekend. Was surprised to be asked actually, what with being 47 and as fit as you can be for a middle aged ex skateboarder.

My arm still hurts a bit but luckily, not like at school, there isn't a line of lads waiting to punch you in the injection site. It hurt a bit to sleep on that side, but thankfully I have 3 other sides available.

I've heard of some people get affected, usually with tiredness and localised pain but generally ok.

Had mine on Monday. Tuesday was unpleasant. Today almost back to normal. Guess mild flu symptoms just about covers it. Surprised me as never had a reaction to the flu jab previously.

I had mine yesterday (Pfizer). I've had a headache and sore neck and shoulder muscles.

The jab was more noticeable than that for flu - i.e. it hurt a bit whereas the flu jab is almost without sensation.

Had mine just over a week ago, sore arm for a bit and then feeling fine, but I have been struggling to get back to my fitness regime, very heavy legs and just feel empty. Feel much better today so hopeful of much better levels when I run later

I could hardly feel the injection (AstraZeneca) (I hate jabs). After effects where slight tiredness, a fever for about 10hrs. I was tired the next day (but that could have been from the bad nights sleep from the fever). 2 days after the jab I was completely back to normal.

Not had mine, but my Dad (74) no side effects, MIL (80) no side effects - Wife (45) sore arm and flu like symptoms and generally feeling crap and lethargic for a couple of days.

I've noticed the Wi-Fi at home keeps dropping out since she had it though.......

I had the Pfizer one and had a slightly sore arm for about 24hrs afterwards.

Did not die, or at least if I did no-one's responding any differently to a zombie in the office or at home. Don't feel like I'm being controlled by Microsoft, but I might still be on-Prem and not have been migrated to Azure yet.

I had Pfizer. No useful downloads year as my 5g chip seems to be stuck on a Swedish folk music channel. Worse than Swedish chef.

Would be about my luck that i am running on sap rather than anything useful

I had mine and i was pretty feverish the following evening night and wiped out for a couple of days, apparently pretty normal. It was worth it though. OH caught covid and I've been fine.

I dont like the look of that big needle, I hate needles.

Still, reckon I'd like suffocating to death far less.

Everyone will be forced to eventually, with businesses refusing entry to the non-vaccinated. No jab - no fly etc. Even talk of an ID card...

It's a bit like cold coffee in the bottom of the cup, not pleasant, but you can manage it.

Had injection on Monday and not got out of bed since, feel like ive been through a 1200rpm spin cycle then turfed down flight of stairs and given a kicking, im used to feeling achey with muscle pain 24hrs/day due to spms anyway but this is an entirely different feeling all over, feet and lower legs are a funny colour being bright red but ice cold and eyesight is a bit blurry. Movement is pretty much limited to arms and what limited movement I had in legs has buggered off.

Never had flu/cold/sore throat in my life so I guess my overactive immune system doesn't like this vaccine doing its thing, hope it passes soon as im pretty sick of pissing into a bucket.

Quite interesting that you all seem to have had some effect or other.

I'll say this, and it isn't directed at anyone on STW, but I know a lot of people who've had their jab recently, most of my Wife's friends are medics.

It's only a hunch, but some, the milder I think symptoms could be psychosomatic.

Firstly there's the obvious 'it's a very new' anxiety, so any symptom, however mild, or normal will be attributed to the jab.

Secondly, it's the shittest time of year, and the shittest Feb in recent history, I know plenty of people, including myself who are lethargic, tired, struggling and generally feeling like crap at the moment, because it's February, the weather is shit, my hair is EVERYWHERE, the News, at least until very recently was terrifying, I haven't seen my friends in months, my parents for even longer, I've barely left the house apart from to go to work, or drag myself around the supermarket since, I dread to say it, but I think it's since Oct which is almost incredibly 5 months, or weeks longer than the first one last year which seemed so bad.

For balance my folks have had theirs, MrsPs mum had had it, my sis in law has had it, a couple of folks at work have had it and not one of them has reported any issues whatsoever.

I had the Pfizer BioNtech jab and the only after effects were a slightly sore arm the following day. Other people I know who had the Pfizer jab have reported a similar slightly sore arm the following day. Of the people who had the AstraZenica vaccine about two-thirds have felt fluey, lethargic and have had headaches for a couple of days - two people had to take a couple of days off work.

Overall, though a couple of days discomfort is definitely worth it so we can get back to some sense of normality as soon as possible.

I dont like the look of that big needle, I hate needles.

Avert your gaze, you won't feel a thing.

About ID/vaccine passports or whatever you want to call it. I don't know if it's still the case but when I worked out in Saudi I had a mass of vaccinations before going and carried a WHO card with a list of all my vaccinations which was inspected when crossing borders. So I don't see a problem with it at a time when we need to do something to control spread of covid.

Both wife (5 weeks ago) & I (3 weeks ago) had the Pfizer jab. Just a slightly sore arm for couple of days. Those suffering after the jab are asked to complete the on-line MHRA 'yellow card' form.

I had the OAZ vaccine, came home, felt a bit groggy from 12-26 hours, but bought 2 Chromebooks. Bill Gates didn't see that coming did he!

I had mine around 4 weeks ago. BioNTech/Pfizer one, I died.

Well, by died I mean I was fine. My arm was a little more sore than the flu jab, but only for a day or so.

Anecdotally people who I work with that had covid had more of a reaction to it. But mainly feelings of lethargy, with a couple of people having a bit of a high temperature (39 degrees ish).

Astra Zenenca here, first 12 hours were extremes of temperature just like old fashioned flu but after that no issues.
Talking to some hospital staff yesterday and they said most of them had the ache/pain in the arm with a few having flu symptoms. Seems like you get one or the other.

That VOX video explains it really well. Mild side effects are higher with these vaccines because they are so good. Much better at prompting an immune response than the flu jab.

The needle is pretty small actually as is the dose given. Most of the needle-phobes I’ve jabbed all said “is that it?”. Maybe it’s my silky smooth technique...

I had mine - Astrazenica - about 24 hours ago. Was fine for the first 10 hours maybe, woke up in the night simultaneously hot and cold and really tired. Have been wiped out all day. I feel really dried out and thirsty, and have a bit of a headache that paracetamol is dealing with nicely.

I feel like an early night tonight should see me right for tomorrow

It's all pfizer where I am. I'd say 90% have the mild sore arm 24 hours after. About 5% seem to feel "fluey" but that correlates with those who tend to feel fluey and have random "24 hour bugs" from work. Harsh but true... That's about it though.

Sample size of about 80 from my place.

Just for a bit of balance. I know of lots who have had no side effects at all. I think posters are more likely to post if they have had a side effect. I deliberately didn't read about the side effects just in case I brought them on psychosomatically.

Same vacc, pretty much the same symptoms. Woke up shivering first night, felt drained for two days then back to normal just like that...

AstraZeneca on Sunday afternoon, arm a bit achey in the evening, especially if I reached across with it. Woke up Monday AM feeling pants, head ache, body ache, temp a bit up and down. Paracetamol as suggested. Felt a bit better by lunchtime, teams interview (as second interviewer) finished just after two. Made cup of tea, sat down to drink cup of tea, woke up two hours later with a cold cup of tea next to me. Tuesday was ok but still a not right. Arm only sore where the jab was (like a three day old bruise, but without the fun colours).

I had AZ and started feeling crap after about 8 hours. It lasted 24 hours, achy, shivers and a bad headache. My parents and sister all had Pfizer. My dad had no side effects and my mum and sister had a sore arm. Pretty sure my parents had Covid last March/April, but had no antibodies when they got tested in December.

I had AZ last week. After 12 hrs very similar symptoms to TedC kicked in. Reckon its was the Chimp flu 😉(they use Chimpanzee adenovirus as the vaccine vector). Took me a couple of days to properly recover. As a possible alternative is catching COVID and drowning in your own body fluids I think it was a price worth paying.

Apparently I'm frontline healthcare so I've booked in for Monday rather than wait for my first shift (when getting a jab isn't actually guaranteed).

I'm 52, had the Pfizer on Monday. Zero side effects here. Im slightly worried it could mean my body isn't doing its job in fact!

My sis and bil headache/ sore arm after AZ but nothing bad.

It's a bit of a lottery but one well worth taking compared to the alternative. I would have been fine with feeling a bit rough for a couple of days to avoid long Covid etc.

Mrs. P had the Astra Zenica jab and for 24 hours complained of feeling like she had a chilled breeze blowing around her.

I had the Pfizer one on Monday and had a sore arm for about 36 hours but now absolutely fine.

Had mine, the AZ one, a week ago last Saturday, and, apart from slight tenderness at the jab site, I’ve not noticed any untoward symptoms at all. Unlike my last flu jab, my arm was very tender, and was really uncomfortable to lay on for nearly a week - I made a mistake and asked for it in my left arm, because I’m right-handed, but I sleep on my left side, and normally have only a mild discomfort, but this time it was very uncomfortable.
Reading today that the decision to wait twelve weeks for the second has been vindicated by test results showing that the efficiency is a fair bit higher after the second jab, and even the first one gives better protection than was initially expected.

I had the AZ one a week ago. Like others I had the aching muscles but must also have had some sort of brain fade as I actually read the leaflet they gave me (I never read instructions) which said take some paracetamol. Paracetamol normally has little effect on me but I thought I'd do what it said (another sign of brain-fade; I rarely take medicines that I don't think will work) and suprisingly was almost instantly ok. So get some paracetamol in just in case.

Her indoors had it today.

I fully expect that despite the impossibility of catching the flu from a flu jab, like every other year she will be special and catch the flu from it.

She is a flag-waving Boris fangirl though so that may have to be offset against wanting to tell everyone how great he (and the vaccine) are.

Not yet... still waiting for the app.
But my team leader is much more on the ball than the last one and is sending regular emails - including yesterday's with the link to book the jab.

I had mine yesterday and had quite a fever overnight. Now I just feel like I got pissed and run over.

I never heard that it is diuretic? I had the biggest wee in years going to bed and still got up in the night thinking I was going to wet the bed. I cant get enough fluids in today to stop my mouth feeling and tasting like the bottom of a parrot's cage.
