So a few weeks ago we received phone call and email from insurers, regards an accident involving our car that happened a week earlier - 250 miles from where we live and the car was at the time. We provided pictures of the car to prove no damage, a couple of emails to show that one of us was online buying at the exact time of the accident and a photocopy of receipts from local shops as I was out with kids at the time. We clearly disputed the accident.
So WHY does the insurer show my accident as 'at fault' and is claiming I may loose my NCD? They agree there is no damage, but say that they have had to do work on my behalf and that means I lose my NCD. In addition the extra NCD protection against uninsured drivers is not valid, as there is no accident!!!! So as it stands, a mis-read numberplate could be meaning the end of all my hard earned NCD...
BARSTEWARDS.
*heads off to go and visit HQ of insurers with a set of bombers and full bladder*

Sounds like you need to contact the ombudsman...
