Finally saw the Wizard of Oz a short while ago - good isn't it?
Wish I'd have seen it as a kid though - didn't really fancy it then, tbh.

Still not seen any of the Rocky films;
Should I?
Which ones?

And the Batman films - saw the first Tim Burton/Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson one but not any of the others.
Which ones are worth a go?
How do they all fit together?

Not seen any of the 'Saw' franchise.
Worth it or just gory nonsense?

What about you?

Anyone genuinely never seen Star Wars?

I didn't see any of the Star Wars films until about 5 years ago when I was 25. I can't say I feel like I missed out much. Saw Oliver! For the first time last week. I tragically only vaguely knew the story, never read, watched or listened to any version of it anywhere before. Glad I finally took the time to watch it.

Watch Batman Returns then move straight onto the Nolan reboots starting with Batman begins

Blockbuster type films just don't appeal-- maybe i miss the odd good one, but sure am not going to waste my life sitting through wooden plots, bad acting, stereotypes, anti hollywood mostly-- am willing to be convinced otherwise, but i think there are much more engaging films from all over the place-- films with humanity...proper dark twisted stuff, films to make you think, challenge your perceptions-- don't recall any from hollywood ..

Not seen it myself, but everyone female seems to like it, so it must be good. I'm not sure of the exploding helicopter count though

That probably used to be true but I think that's an unfair criticism of some modern Hollywood 'blockbusters'. There have been some surprising gems coming out of Hollywood in recent years and I think at last the big US studios are waking up to the fact that audiences do like to be challenged and don't need spoon feeding.

I was going to reply, as IHN above, but as someone who likes boxing, I'd say you're not missing anything not seeing the Rocky films.

Agree with IHN on the Batman stuff.
Saw - rubbish.

Never seen Green Mile, which is supposed to be good, cos I can't stand Tom Hanks.

Not seen any Lord of the Rings. But never will.

I've never watched The Green Mile, or Shawshank Redemption, and to be honest I'm not sure I'd bother either, am I really missing out?

The original film, First Blood, is great. Hugely underrated.

Yes.

Not seen any of the Star Wars or Back To the Future films or ET.

Caught a bit of Back to the Future on telly the other day and it suddenly dawned on me that the film 'present' is now almost as far in the past as the past that they travel back to

Reservoir Dogs, never seen it and never felt like seeing it! Am I missing out or is it really over hyped?

I stopped watching Rocky at Rocky III because my brain could no longer take the punishment. I can only hope that in some parallel universe I found something better to do with my time than watch the first 3. The original Rambo was enjoyable but didn't tempt me to see the rest of them.

I've never watched Jaws, Gone with the Wind, Citizen Kane, most of the Bond films etc etc.

I'm a fan of Tarantino - I think Pulp Fiction was a masterpiece but Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs and Jackie Brown are lesser works.

Seven Samurai is a timeless classic, so is The Man Who Would Be King. Connery's Robin and Marion is still the best Robin Hood film ever.

The films I really enjoy are the ones that come out of the blue - Alex Cox's Repo Man, Dog Soldiers and The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I realised the other day, if they remade BTTF today, Marty would go back to 1983. *feels old*

Anchorman.

And judging by the 'hype' around Hot Tub Time Machine and Family Guy, I don't think I'm missing much.
