We will be in touch
Hi all
I'm stuck in the house off work today with a cold. I really need it shifted for this weekend as I'm taking part in Ten under the Ben.
Should I feed or starve the cold to get rid of it faster?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Neither. Just MTFU and get on with life as normal, if you eat a sensible diet you'll have no problems.

Why not shout down to your mum and get her to bring you some nice warm soup?
Get yourself on the sofa with the sicky blankey and mummy'll look after her wittle trooper.

Cool, thanks. Anything that will help in particular?
Get yourself some Encona hot pepper sauce from the supermarket, a bit of that on whatever you're eating will make you feel better.
Lemon juice and honey in hot water to drink for your throat, job done
Feed a cold, starve a fever.
Have you tried masturbating it out of your system?
I can't guarantee that it will work, but it's got to be worth a try.
Lol @ ian
Lol!!

Does that count as feeding or starving?
As above, feed a cold starve a fever, or more realistically if you feel hungry, eat, you tend not to feel hungry if you have a fever.

No, a cold is a viral thing - you can't really do anything other than allow your body to deal with it. Unless your body has a significant lack of something in the first place it will be perfectly able to deal with it with what you eat normally. I'd be amazed if there was any evidence to support any of the old wivestales about feeding/starving illnesses, as catfood said really it's just a case of if you're hungry you'll eat, if not you won't, rather than eating more or less on purpose. I'm not a medical doc of course, so my advice is based purely on observation and reasoning rather than experience.
